Rejuvenate your mind

I found this TED lecture by Stefan Sagmeister so inspiring. If only we could all take these recurring creative sabbaticals, we might live happier by allowing our minds to take a deserved time out to open up and get energized. I love the idea of allowing yourself the time to get a fresh outlook on our current skill set as professionals (which really is just another form of growth). What better gift could we give our creative minds than a break every once in a while to reboot, refresh and rejuvenate?

A quick drawing I did today during my free time. Happy Birthday Gemini.

There was stretching, chanting, candles and aromatherapy. It was yoga and I liked it.

Green Moms

This is an illustration I created for the JibJab Mother's Day content... (Moms like trees, right??)I had a lot of fun making this and I definitely want to explore creating with textures more often. 

Lunchtime Black and White - Magic

"Magic" is the theme for this lunchtime b&w. Phil, Nate, Crystal and I took a road trip to Las Vegas this past weekend and saw a magical show called Believe. This drawing is based off my memories of the show.

I got the man sandwich thanks to Phil's lunchtime switch-a-roo. But I did get to draw this b&w tree panel so I think it's a win-win situation.

I'm not a ballerina

I'm not a ballerina, but I did design and animate this production company logo anyway.  You may know Melora Hardin from NBC's The Office. Besides being part of an awesome TV show, she also has a production company called Dancing Moon Productions. And I helped her out by making this logo. *A little fun fact* -  I got the job because of my previous blog post. Thanks Andy!

Here's a quick sketch I made while feeling sad and anxious. I think I need a hug like this little guy. 

New Beginnings

I've never had a blog until now, and this is in fact, my very first blog post! So naturally, I felt it was fitting to post an image to represent new beginnings. 2009 started off without a hitch as Phil and I were married at Davio's Northern Italian Restaurant in Philadelphia, PA. The photo below is taken by the amazingly talented Karin von Voigtlander and it's of Phil and I on our way to our wedding ceremony.
